aiVIP™ | How AI Visibility Works

Make Your Business Easier
to Find, Understand and Evaluate.

AI Visibility starts with a simple question: what can machines understand about your business from the information available to them?

aiVIP™ examines how clearly your business, services, knowledge, evidence and relationships are represented online — then helps you identify and improve the areas that matter.

Start with the principle

What Is AI Visibility?

AI Visibility is about how clearly your business and its information can be discovered, interpreted and evaluated by AI-powered search and answer systems.

A website may contain hundreds of pages and still leave important questions unanswered. Another business may have substantial real-world expertise but very little of that knowledge clearly represented online.

The issue is therefore broader than whether a website exists or whether individual keywords appear on a page.

We look at the digital representation of the business: who it is, what it does, who it helps, what it knows, what supports its claims and how those pieces of information connect.

The objective is not to manipulate an AI system. It is to make genuine business information clearer, more useful and easier to interpret.

The aiVIP™ framework

Relevance → Understanding → Evidence → Confidence → Action

AI Visibility can be understood as a sequence of increasingly useful information.

01 — RELEVANCE

Is Your Business Relevant to the Question?

The starting point is whether the business, service, product, location, expertise or information has a meaningful relationship to what someone is trying to discover or understand.

02 — UNDERSTANDING

Can the Business Be Understood?

Is it clear who the business is, what it does, which customers it serves, where it operates and how its products, services, people and information relate to each other?

03 — EVIDENCE

What Supports the Information?

Claims can be surrounded by genuine evidence such as people, experience, projects, credentials, specifications, customer evidence and appropriate independent sources.

04 — CONFIDENCE

Is the Information Clear and Consistent?

Accurate, specific and appropriately supported information can make a business easier for people and machines to evaluate. Conflicting, vague or outdated information can make that harder.

05 — ACTION

Can the Customer Take the Next Step?

Useful visibility should ultimately help a real person move from a question toward an appropriate next action — reading, comparing, enquiring, booking, buying or starting a conversation.

Start with the customer's objective

AI-Powered Discovery Can Begin With a Question

People do not always know the company, product or terminology they need. They often know only what they are trying to achieve.

“Who can help me with this?”

Can the business be associated clearly with the problem it solves?

“What are my options?”

Does the available information help someone understand the different approaches?

“Which solution is relevant to me?”

Are products and services explained in terms of customer needs rather than internal terminology alone?

“How does this work?”

Does the business explain its process clearly enough for someone unfamiliar with it?

“Why should I consider this business?”

Can genuine experience, expertise and supporting evidence be found and understood?

“What should I do next?”

Is there an obvious route from information into an appropriate human or digital action?

Think beyond individual web pages

Your Business Is a Network of Connected Information

A business is not simply a homepage and a list of services. It contains entities, relationships, knowledge and evidence.

ENTITY

Business

Company, brand, location and the information that establishes who the organisation is.

PEOPLE

Expertise

Founders, directors, specialists and other people whose knowledge contributes to the business.

OFFER

Products & Services

What the business actually provides and the customer problems those offers are intended to address.

KNOWLEDGE

Questions & Answers

Useful explanations showing what the business knows about the subjects relevant to its customers.

PROOF

Evidence

Projects, experience, credentials, specifications, testimonials and other genuine supporting information.

RELATIONSHIPS

Connections

The links between the business, people, services, knowledge, customers, projects and evidence.

The clearer these relationships become, the easier it can be for a person — and potentially a machine — to build a coherent understanding of the business.

One page can serve several purposes

The Four Layers of AI-Visible Content

Good AI Visibility work should not require choosing between human communication and machine understanding.

01

Human Conversion

Does the page communicate clearly enough for the right customer to understand the proposition and decide what to do next?

02

Answer

Does it directly answer useful questions rather than surrounding the subject with vague promotional language?

03

Evidence

Are important statements supported by genuine first-party or appropriate independent evidence where relevant?

04

Machine Understanding

Is the visible information organised so that important entities, topics and relationships are as clear as practical?

A core aiVIP™ principle

Visible Truth First.

Machine-readable information should reinforce what a real visitor can genuinely see and verify — not create a different version of the business behind the page.

VISIBLE INFORMATION

Build the Human-Readable Truth

Explain the business, services, people, questions, evidence and important relationships clearly on the website.

Where information changes, it should be maintained accurately rather than left to become misleading.

MACHINE-READABLE

Then Reinforce the Structure

Appropriate structured data, metadata, internal relationships, sitemaps and other machine-readable elements can support the visible information.

They should not be used to make claims that the visible page does not support.

Visible content first. Machine-readable reinforcement second.

From theory to practical improvement

How Does the aiVIP™ Process Work?

The commercial process is deliberately simple: establish the position, interpret it, decide what matters, implement appropriate improvements and measure again.

STEP 1 — SCAN

Establish the Starting Position

Run the FREE AI Visibility Scan™ against the current website to identify technical and information signals that deserve further examination.

STEP 2 — HUMAN REVIEW

Understand What the Findings Mean

Automated findings are interpreted in the context of the actual business, customers, website and commercial objectives.

STEP 3 — PRIORITISE

Decide What Matters Most

Not every possible improvement has equal commercial value. We identify the issues and opportunities that deserve attention.

STEP 4 — IMPROVE

Implement Defined Work

Use a focused Toolkit product or an AI Visibility Sprint™ to undertake agreed improvements within a defined scope.

STEP 5 — MEASURE

Review the Position Again

Where appropriate, rescan and review the website to establish what changed, what remains and what deserves attention next.

Step 1

Start With the FREE AI Visibility Scan™

Do not assume what is wrong. Establish an initial baseline first.

AUTOMATED SCAN

Find the Initial Signals

The FREE Scan examines defined aspects of the website and provides an initial AI Visibility assessment.

It creates a practical entry point without requiring a paid engagement first.

IMPORTANT

A Scan Is Not the Whole Answer

Automated analysis cannot fully understand the commercial importance of every finding, the quality of the underlying business or the customer's priorities.

That is why aiVIP™ combines automation with Human Review.

Step 2

AI Finds Patterns.
Human Judgement Determines What Matters.

The ability to generate more analysis does not remove the need to make good decisions.

AI can accelerate research, website analysis, question discovery, comparison, classification and the organisation of information.

CHG applies human business judgement to interpret the findings, understand the commercial context and determine which improvements deserve priority.

The objective is not to automate judgement out of the process. It is to give human judgement better information and greater working capacity.

Step 3

Not Everything That Can Be Improved Should Be Improved First.

A useful programme distinguishes between a possible task and a worthwhile priority.

Relevance

Does the issue matter to the business, customer or information we are trying to improve?

Importance

Could addressing it materially improve clarity, usefulness or the digital representation of the business?

Feasibility

Can the improvement reasonably be implemented with the available access, information, time and resources?

Dependency

Does another issue need to be addressed first before this work can be useful?

Diagnose broadly. Prioritise carefully. Implement selectively.

Step 4

Choose the Right Tool for the Problem

The aiVIP™ Toolkit separates different types of work so a business does not have to purchase a large programme when one defined improvement is the appropriate starting point.

Step 5

Improve What You Control. Measure What You Can Observe.

No business controls how an independent AI or search platform will crawl, select, interpret or present its information.

What we can control more directly is the quality and organisation of the business's own digital information and the work undertaken to improve it.

BEFORE

Establish the Baseline

Record the starting position and identify relevant weaknesses, gaps and opportunities.

IMPROVE

Document the Work

Implement defined improvements and maintain a clear record of what was changed.

AFTER

Review Again

Where appropriate, rescan and reassess the observable position to identify progress and remaining priorities.

We do not declare success simply because work was completed. We review what changed.

A realistic approach to AI Visibility

What Can We Control?

WE CAN IMPROVE

Your Digital Information

We can work on areas such as website accessibility, information structure, customer answers, content, entities, evidence, internal relationships and appropriate machine-readable reinforcement.

We can research, prioritise, implement defined work and measure observable changes.

WE DO NOT CONTROL

Independent Platforms

We do not control the algorithms, source selection, crawling, indexing decisions, citations, recommendations or responses produced by Google, ChatGPT or other independent systems.

For that reason, aiVIP™ does not guarantee rankings, AI citations or AI recommendations.

The governing principle

Useful for Humans. Clear to Machines.

AI Visibility should improve the digital representation of a real business — not create a second artificial business written for algorithms.

Customers need useful explanations, accurate information, credible evidence and clear next steps.

Those same qualities can make the business easier for machines to interpret.

That leads to a simple rule:

Don't create content because AI exists.
Create useful knowledge for people, then structure it so machines can understand it too.

Straight answers

How AI Visibility Works — FAQs

Is AI Visibility the same as SEO?

No. There is overlap because useful, accessible and clearly structured website information matters to both. aiVIP™ looks more broadly at business understanding, customer questions, entities, relationships, evidence and the wider digital representation of the business.

Does AI Visibility mean writing content for robots?

No. The starting point is useful information for real people. Machine-readable structure should reinforce that visible information rather than replace it.

What is “Visible Truth First”?

It means important machine-readable claims should correspond with genuine information that is visible and supportable on the website. Structured data should not be used to invent a different version of the business behind the page.

Do I need structured data?

Appropriate structured data can help make certain entities and relationships explicit, but it is one part of the wider information system. It does not compensate for weak or missing visible content.

Do I need an llms.txt file?

Not necessarily. llms.txt is an emerging and experimental convention rather than a universal requirement. It can be considered as a supplementary element where appropriate, but it should not replace strong website content, normal crawlability or established technical foundations.

Why is Human Review necessary?

Automated systems can identify large numbers of signals and possible improvements. Human Review helps determine their commercial relevance, priority, feasibility and context.

Do I need all five AI Visibility Tools?

No. A business may need only one defined intervention. The Toolkit exists so the work can match the problem. Sprints are available when several priorities need to be coordinated.

How quickly can AI Visibility improve?

The work itself can often begin immediately, but independent platforms determine whether, when and how they crawl, process or use information. No universal external response time can therefore be promised.

Will aiVIP™ make ChatGPT or Google recommend my business?

No such guarantee can be made. Independent platforms control their own systems. aiVIP™ focuses on improving the clarity, structure, evidence and discoverability of information the business can reasonably control.
